Description
Day 1: Sept 15 2024 Sunday Arrive in Venice take a water taxi to check into your 4 star hotel right off the Grand Canal. Venetian musicians will lead you Geoff and his guitar players through the streets of Venice to some local non tourist spots. We will have some food and take a nighttime walk out to St Marks square.
Day 2: September 16 2024 Monday A day of Island trips by boat out to Murano island where we will watch glass blowers make the famous Murano glass chandeliers. Then visit Burano, the island with multicolor houses you’ve seen on instagram. Eat shop and hang with the band until we go back to change and have some dinner and get ready for our pub night.
Day 3: September 17 2024 Tuesday We will walk in the most famous places of Venice. We will visit St. Mark square, the Rialto bridge called the bridge of sighs, St. Peter church, the old venetian cathedral etc. We will eat lunch in a local restaurant, and visit the Giudecca island with the church of Redentore, We’ll take a gondola trip in the late afternoon, and then off to dinner with the musicians.
Day 4: September 18 2024 Wednesday we will visit St. Francesco del Deserto island ( a monastery with friars) by taxi boat. We will set up for an acoustic concert on top of a castle on St. Andrea island and have our own acoustic concert in Casanova’s palace. We’ll take our boat back to eat and find a place to get the guitars out for the evening.
Day 5: September 19 2024 Thursday We will visit the Ducal Palace and several other sights we missed. We’ll get in some shopping and of course more eating and drinking.
Day 6: September 20 2024 Friday Free day. Go to Harry’s bar and have a Belini where they were invented in the 1930’s or take in St. Mark’s Basilica. So many museums and shops we can’t see them all. We will have a competitive shopping experience with some extraordinary prizes in the evening for top items.
Day 7: September 21 2024 Saturday We will wake up and head back to the main land and you will get to set up and soundcheck with the band and watch a Geoff Tate’s greatest hits Show, All Access. Hang in the dressing room with the band and be part of the pre show huddle.
Day 8: September 22 2024 Sunday check out and go to the airport for flights home.
